6/8/07 Got up this morning and forgot how to get into my blog. Feel like a foolish old lady. But, everything's packed, taking 70 books with me and even ironed a few pieces of "good" clothing to be presentable in Atlanta. Reminded me of ironing sheets, pillowcases and handkerchiefs (remember them?) as a kid. Surprised we haven't invited throwaway sheets and pillowcases to go along with kleenex. Glad that I decided to stop along the way overnight (used Priceline for best motel price,
$38), and have earmarked Mammoth Cave as today's destination. Have never been there, and the last tour is at 4:15 p.m. My kitties know I'm going and are NOT pleased.

- I am a 64-year-old female philosopher (Ph.D. philosophy, Boston University, 1973) who then morphed into a professional astrologer, practicing and writing in that field for over 20 years. Meanwhile, I created and ran three publications, the last of which, Crone Chronicles: A Journal of Conscious Aging, ran for 12 years and was twice nominated for Utne Reader's annual small press awards. Then my husband died. I spent the next year in solitude, living in the town to which we had moved just prior to his death, immersed in what I now call a process of conscious grieving. Tomorrow (6/9/07 I begin the first of numerous road tours to share the book that resulted from this year, This Vast Being: A Voyage through Grief and Exaltation. This blog will be my personal record of those tours. On the way I shall also talk about the new magazine that I am to launch at Spring Equinox with Anne Niven, Publisher of SageWoman magazine, to be called Crone: Women Coming of Age.
